XML Infinity Products

The XML Infinity Server system is about control, modularity and flexibility and so are our product packages. The packages listed below are our standard products, of which one should be right for your business needs. If there isn't a package that seems to suit, give us a call or email to see if we can design something that works for your needs.

There isn't a one size fits all product in our range, however if your business is new to the online world then we would recommend an Elements package to start with to get a feel for your usage levels.

Technology Core

The CMS may be easily changed by changing the schema definition. This allows for faster prototyping during the build phase and decreased maintenance costs later on once the site is live as changes costs a fraction of what they would in a normal system.

Your data is stored as XML in a transportable and open format. This means you can import other XML documents into the system and export your content to a range of different end user formats

XML Infinity has a comprehensive editing system that allows you to make changes to every piece of content of your site. With over 20 different information objects to combine together in an unlimited way we can model any type of information the way you want it to work for your business.

Because you have to synchronise the XML Infinity server to your live site it gives you the ability to organise your information, iterate it and evolve it whilst getting feedback from people within your business and then set it live.

Using the powerful translation engine at the heart of the XML Infinity server, you can preview your content as it will appear on your site - thus you can test that links work and the content is organised properly before you put it live on the internet.

You don't want everyone within your organisation accessing your CMS and potentially making changes by accident because they aren't familiar with the system. However you do need to give them some sort of access so they can view and approve content. As such we have an email review system whereby you can send out a link to any email address inviting the recipient to take a look at the page you are working on.

An advanced file manager makes you feel quite at home. You can add folders and files as well as delete items that are no longer relevant. Each folder and file has it's own menu of options so youcan perform actions at a folder, site or individual file level.

With a dedicated asset manager you can see all of the heavy assets [images, PDFs or word docs, flash movies or MP3s] you have put into the system and you can add, upload or delete them all in the one place. You can preview them as well so you can see whether they are still relevant.

A group allows you to combine certain sections or documents within your content sphere together. Say for example you commonly update a news feed and your home page each day, with groups you can combine these things together so you can then translate or upload them together as one group. It saves you doing them individually or doing the whole site as well.
Upgrades

All licencees will get free bug fixes to the system. These will occur as part of monthly upgrades as well as when an error has been reported.

As the XML Infinity server system gets updated with new features most users will get the added features for free immediately. Note that this is only applicable to yearly customers not technology purchase customers.
Translation
To get your content from bare XML to final product you need to translate it. Within the system you can translate a single file, a folder or group of files or your entire site - the choice is yours.

For customers on higher level packages you can schedule translations to occur on either a one off or repeating basis. Once complete the server will email you to tell you it has been done.
Uploads
Once you have your finished translated site files, you need to get them to the live server and this is where uploads come in. You can upload single files, groups or the entire site. For Upload Limited accounts, you will lose one upload for every upload session [not for each time you click the button or file you put up] so these packages are great for people that only do weekly or bi-monthly updates. Upload Limited accounts can also purchase upload packs and uploads transfer from month to month if they are not used.

The XSL editor is available to make edits to the base XSL files. There is the assumption that users will have some knowledge of XSL.

The Schema editor is available to make edits to the base Schema document. These is the assumption that users will have a knowledge of XSD and will be trained in the schema usage.
Support Level

Bug reports and general suport questions are preferred to be dealt with via email so there is a tracking process. All customers can log a request by email.

Once a support request has been logged we are comitted to responding with a fix or a timetable for a fix within the periods specified above.

Costs

The set up fee includes the yearly licence for the system along with the setting up of your account on the system and giving you access.
Yearly Renewal	£500	£750	£1900	n/a
The yearly renewal is to maintain your account with XML Infinity and keep using the licence for managing your content. It also gives you free bug fixes and version upgrades as the system is upgraded.
