07.01.2008 : Back Boris version 2 launched

We had to keep this one quiet to coincide with a large press launch however we can now say that backboris.com version 2 has now officially launched. The site has been overhauled over ther last six weeks to develop a platform from which Boris Johnson can comprehensively campaign in his bid to become the next Mayor of London.

The site has been redeveloped, reusing the core of the version 1 site whilst updating the design and technology to incorporate all the requirements the campaign team asked for.

The brief was to build a communications platform as yet unseen on the UK political landscape.

Dan Ritterband, campaign director said "My original brief to you was to set a new standard in UK political digital communications. You have outdone my expectations in a huge way".

Utilising an XML infinity integral server as it's core, the site comprises several distinct channels of content managed by different people within the team. Additionally layers of AJAX-style (or web 2.0) technologies have been laid on top of the core site in order to provide a level of interactivity for the user. Tied into all of this is a strong communication strategy allowing people to interact and donate via the site as well as text message.

The design was done entirely in house, led by our Creative Director, Stephen Smart. His vision was to ensure that the content communicated effectively but reflected the freshness of the 4-colour branding that has been adopted by the campaign.

Further channel content will be launched over the coming weeks in line with campaign plans.
