01.04.2007 : Not Bad For a Girl Launches
Today we launched a new site, www.notbadforagirl.com - a fashion web site dedicated to urban women who geek out over music and design but still find time to do all the things they need to for their family too.
Designer Karen Jane, was particularly demanding in her requirements for the site and the Content Management System as it had to allow her flexibility not only over the content and how it was produced but she also needed to have control over elements of the design - an area that is not traditionally suited to CMS'.
The site obviously contains an online shop where customers can buy product, but it also has lifestyle content including a bespoke blog and soon to be released "members" area highlighting some of the women who buy the product, where they come from and what they do.
Andrew Fisher, xml infinity Chief Architect says, "The NBFG site is a prime example of what XML Infinity can be used for. Previously Karen was trying to do things in Dreamweaver which was taking a lot of time and she had hooked in a blog using blogger.
There isn't anything wrong with this approach but she found she was spending a lot of time managing 'bits' of her site rather than concentrating on designing new product and putting great content on her site. An off the shelf CMS would really have struggled to produce this site, because of the number of tweaks required for the blog and product sections and it probably wouldn't have dealt well with Karen's design requirements either.
This goes back to why XML is such a good method of modelling content, it is inherently flexible and it can easily be moulded to another format easily."
NBFG designer, Karen Jane said, "I chose XML Infinity because I saw it in action on other sites and thought that it would make my life a lot easier. The guys there are constantly developing it as well so I knew rather than a quick and dirty CMS I was getting something with a lot of development time spent on it."
The website can be found at www.notbadforagirl.com and uses an XML Infinity Elements+ Server. 5% of all proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research.

16/04/2008 - London Mayoral campaign - why buy from abroad?
We would be the first company to say that the Internet is making communications easier and making virtual teams of people more simple to manage, however there is something inherently "right" about sitting down with a client working through a strategy to solve a problem rather than doing it exclusively by phone and email. We pride ourselves on working with our clients in very close partnership - our "one size doesn't fit all" mantra isn't just to do with how a CMS functions, it's to do with the very nature of the way our client's organisations operate. 11/04/2008 - Board-worx website live
This afternoon www.board-worx.com was launched after being developed using the XML Infinity Integral server. The Board Worx website is the most extended site currently managed by the XML Infinity System with over two dozen different product lines and over two thousand products currently managed within the system. This figure is set to grow significantly through 2008 as the summer season bring a constant stream of new products onto the site. Read more >>
