03.09.2007 : backboris.com Launched
This morning saw the launch of backboris.com a site designed and developed by Transition Media using the XML Infinity Integral server as it's core technology base. The site itself comprises a mix of all types of content including images and video and also integrates seamless AJAX technology into the site - all of which is managed within the XML Infinity system.
Dan Ritterband, Campaign Director for the Back Boris Campaign said, "Transition Media have done a fantastic job for Boris and his campaign to be Mayor of London.
"When considering our digital presence for the campaign, we knew we required an agency that could look beyond the well worn path of Blog and single-page notice board sites - the types of sites that UK political campaigns tend to currently adopt. We wanted a site that people would actually enjoy using and find informative. We needed an agency that could fuse contemporary design with innovative technology as a means of effectively communicating our message. Thankfully, we found that agency - Transition Media. An extremely professional and hard working team."
One of the primary features to be included into the Back Boris site was the use of AJAX. This technology allows a page to be updated "on the fly" without refreshing and has been used by the likes of Google, YouTube and Amazon in order to increase interactivity on their sites to great effect.
Andrew Fisher, XML Infinity Technical Director explains more, "AJAX is a technology buzzword that has been over-hyped as part of the whole Web 2.0 frenzy. Our aim for this site was to use technology that helps communicate the message but integrate it seamlessly into the site framework. Users of the poll features for example don't want to wait for a page to refresh just to see the results. All of these features however, have backwards compatible versions for those people's whose security settings are too high for AJAX to work or who use older (or text based) browsers to view the site."
The backboris.com site forms the hub of the online campaign for Boris Johnson's Mayoral campaign. Other campaign specific sites will be joining this over the next couple of months, all of which are managed using XML Infinity and are using technology in different ways.

16/04/2008 - London Mayoral campaign - why buy from abroad?
We would be the first company to say that the Internet is making communications easier and making virtual teams of people more simple to manage, however there is something inherently "right" about sitting down with a client working through a strategy to solve a problem rather than doing it exclusively by phone and email. We pride ourselves on working with our clients in very close partnership - our "one size doesn't fit all" mantra isn't just to do with how a CMS functions, it's to do with the very nature of the way our client's organisations operate. This afternoon www.board-worx.com was launched after being developed using the XML Infinity Integral server. The Board Worx website is the most extended site currently managed by the XML Infinity System with over two dozen different product lines and over two thousand products currently managed within the system. This figure is set to grow significantly through 2008 as the summer season bring a constant stream of new products onto the site. Read more >>
