19.12.2006 : XML Infinity System Upgrade
Transition Media have rolled out quarterly upgrades to all XML Infinity customers comprising a maintenance update fixing some reported issues, but also adding some new functionality as well.
Upgraded features include performance tuning of the Transformation Engine using a new caching and scheduling mechanism which improves the speed at which sites are transformed to final output. User management has also seen an overhaul focussing on common tasks required by an administrator.
New functionality includes the ability to create subclasses of content objects such that content-objects can be extended with using base information but so they can have their own behaviour. This has already had benefits for several retail customers who have diverse product ranges.
Providing upgrades to the core system free of charge is one of the fundamental components of the XML Infinity business model. As time goes by and we get more feedback on the system and a diverse user base, the whole thing improves for everyone using it.
