01.06.2005 : kitesports site goes live

The new Paracademy Consortium web site went live today in record time including integration of back end booking systems, it can be seen at www.kitesports.co.uk

Paracademy were great partners in the development of their site, they were fully committed to the production of it and more or less dropped everything to get their content in order once the model was completed.

As well as using the XML Infinity Integral server package, Paracademy also needed their back office booking system integrated into the site as well in order to display course dates and availability and manage bookings condcuted through the site. This couldn't have been easier thanks to an XML export and import function within the booking system thus allowing availability and course information to be passed to XML Infinity and then orders generated via the web site to be passed back, creating a nice virtuous circle between all three systems.

Neil Godbold, Paracademy Chairman, said, "This is great, we really have evolved now our online prescence now and I feel as though we are delivering a great customer experience all the way from first impression through to booking and then when they arrive and come on our courses.

"What's more, one of my ideas which was to have a wealth of content available to students available online after they leave, has now been realised as well and we can add to that, growing it and tweaking it over time. So we are really happy."

XML Infinity Technical Director, Andrew Fisher says, "This was another good project for us, the content model was fairly straightforward but the integration was always the thing that could unstick us. We new the booking system they [Paracademy] have could export XML but we didn't know whether it would be useful XML or just machine generated garbage.

"As it was we talked to the developers and they were only too happy to give us their XML definitions which meant we could incorporate them into our content model wholesale. At that point it was just a question of creating a realiable feed backwards and forwards.

"I think this project shows the amazing power that XML has which people like Tim [Berners-Lee, inventor of the WWW] have been banging on about for a decade now. Information should be separate from design so it can be easily manipulated and moved around without any baggage."

16/04/2008 - London Mayoral campaign - why buy from abroad?

We would be the first company to say that the Internet is making communications easier and making virtual teams of people more simple to manage, however there is something inherently "right" about sitting down with a client working through a strategy to solve a problem rather than doing it exclusively by phone and email. We pride ourselves on working with our clients in very close partnership - our "one size doesn't fit all" mantra isn't just to do with how a CMS functions, it's to do with the very nature of the way our client's organisations operate.  Read more >>

11/04/2008 - Board-worx website live

This afternoon www.board-worx.com was launched after being developed using the XML Infinity Integral server. The Board Worx website is the most extended site currently managed by the XML Infinity System with over two dozen different product lines and over two thousand products currently managed within the system. This figure is set to grow significantly through 2008 as the summer season bring a constant stream of new products onto the site.  Read more >>
